Meet Fox and Fallow the creative couple behind the gorgeous range of paper goods, chalkboards and timber signs for cool, quirky, creative folk like you! Janet and Darrell love nothing more than creating custom stationery, chalkboards & timber signs for your upcoming wedding or event. The pair create handcrafted and hand-lettered products perfect for customised wedding stationary and other wedding mementos. We recently had a chat with one half of our favourite duo's about their business, inspiration, and life.

Tell us about Fox and Fallow and how it all began.
Darrell and I met in high school and were in Mount Isa - in the middle of outback Queensland, but we now call sunny Brisbane home.
My background is in graphic design and art direction but after spending 10 years in design studios and advertising I felt like I needed a bit of a change. I fell in love with weddings after designing our own wedding stationery and signs and in 2013 we began creating wedding stationery and signs for couples as a side project. In 2015 we jumped into the world of wholesale and debuted our line at the National Stationery Show in New York. It’s been a wild ride so far and it just seems to be getting crazier each day!
Where do you get inspiration for your designs?
I have a real passion for hand lettering and illustration so design blogs and pinterest are my go to places. But travelling really re-energises us so we try to visit new countries and experience new cultures as much as we can.
What tip would you give aspirational designers?
Gain as much experience working in a design studio or advertising agency as you can - you’ll learn to hone your skills, develop a creative process and develop a thick skin! When you feel ready to go freelance, go for it, but wait until you’ve built up enough of a client base, before taking the big leap. Being your own boss is super rewarding but can be stressful if you’re not ready.
What item can't you live without?
My brush pens, paint and Mac.
How would you describe your morning ritual?
A strong coffee, fruit and yoghurt and an attempt to clean out my inbox (which rarely happens)!
How would you describe your bedtime ritual?
We’re both night owls, so we usually work pretty late, cook dinner with a glass of wine, try and squeeze in a little TV chill time and then off to bed.
What is your favourite thing about being at home?
Seriously lounging around in comfy clothes and not having to do my hair and makeup is the best!
What book are you currently reading?
Tina Fey’s Bossypants

They’re all so gorgeous but the Vivian Pyjama Set is just divine! I just love that delicate watercolour pattern!
