How to elope in style

Over the last couple of years, there’s been a rising trend for couples to tie the knot in an intimate micro wedding or to elope. Big weddings with hundreds of guests just haven’t been possible during the pandemic. Indeed, even celebrities are trading their extravagant nuptials for a low-key ceremony or to elope. For example just hours after walking the red carpet at the Grammy Awards, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker walked down another aisle... to say 'I do'.

The star couple secretly eloped to Las Vegas for an intimate wedding ceremony.

Another celebrity couple to elope was Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas in Las Vegas after the 2019 Billboard Awards (they also had a second ceremony at a later date in France) and Sophie Monk eloped this year.

Of course, every bride wants to feel and look their most beautiful as they get ready for their wedding, post-wedding and on their honeymoon. From exquisite pre-wedding bridal robes to intimates and post-wedding personalised sleepwear, read on for your guide to eloping in style.

How to elope in style: beautiful bridal robes

Take your cues from Australian celebrity Sophie Monk for your pre-elopement getting ready look. For her recent secret elopement to Joshua Gross, which took place at home, Sophie wore our glamourous Gaylene Linen Robe while she had her bridal hair and makeup done. This chic robe comes in beautiful bridal white and has romantic ruffle detailing on the sleeves and hem. It’s a truly dreamy pre-wedding robe and the perfect bridal robe to include in your elopement wardrobe.

Another elegant elopement bridal robe option is our Kassiah Long Lace Robe (which also comes in a short version). Seen here (right) on Sophie, it’s an exquisite lace bridal robe straight out of a bridal fairy tale.

Our Farrah Long Lace Chiffon Robe is always a bridal favourite (it’s our most pinned bridal robe on Pinterest!) and is a dreamy robe to get ready to say “I do” in and to slip into on your romantic honeymoon.

How to elope in style: bridal intimates and personalised sleepwear

Under our Gaylene bridal robe to get ready for her “elopement-ish”, as she wrote of her wedding in her announcement post on Instagram, Sophie wore our sexy new Tatiana bodysuit. A bodysuit is an elevated and effortless piece to wear under your robe while having your bridal beauty done or as you do your own bridal beauty (find bridal beauty tips from award-winning makeup artist, Mia Connor, here).

Our Brooklyn Bodysuit in white is a gorgeous pre-wedding bodysuit option to wear under a bridal robe as you prepare to say “I do”. It’s also very versatile and can be paired with jeans, pants or a statement skirt and heels for an elevated evening look. If you’re planning to elope in a destination far from home, this bodysuit is a must-have. Wear it pre-wedding to get ready and post-wedding to celebrate at a special dinner with your new husband – one piece, so many looks!
