Homebodii Bride of the Month: Olivia Pearce
A little bit about me…
I’m 30 years old, work in corporate HR, spend my free time at the beach and am a real food and wood kind of girl. My husband, Fraser, and I have been together for 9 years! The ring was worth the wait! Wedding approach: we had a few golden rules.
1. Venue had to be in the Hunter Valley because this is where our love story really started having lived there together for nearly 4 years.
2. We wanted a winter wedding (which meant a 5 months turn around from getting engaged).
3. Only those actively involved in our life are to be invited.
4. Craft the day based on what we want, not be influenced by others.
When I look back on the day now I feel…
I feel so grateful that we were in a position to create the wedding of our dreams. We wouldn’t change a thing from our day.
A word of advice to new brides would be...
1. If you can afford a planner, get one. There’s so many things you don’t think of that they have covered. When things go wrong they handle it without you even needing to know. They are your voice of reason and sanity keeper and above all else they will help bring your dream to life.
2. Get an on the day coordinator. For me this is critical. We had our gorgeous friend plan and coordinate our wedding. It meant on the day we could be the guests of honour instead of having to worry about schedules and coordinating vendors.
My Homebodii moment was special because I wore…
My Homebodii moment was special because it was my dream bridal slip. The material drapes beautifully and I felt so elegant wearing it. I wore the Sian Long Slip. I now wear it often at home, which takes me right back to our wedding morning.
