Homebodii Bride of the Month: Vivienne Zhang

A little about me...

Hi, I’m Vivienne—a dentist by profession and a travel enthusiast at heart. I love exploring the world, immersing myself in new cultures, savouring delicious cuisines, and creating unforgettable memories with my favourite people. I’m thrilled to share a glimpse of my wedding experience with you!

Our approach to planning the wedding was…

Our approach to planning the wedding centred on creating a personal and intimate celebration that truly reflected what mattered most to us. We wanted to incorporate elements that showcased our personalities and style, making the day uniquely ours.

Inspired by the enchanting beauty of Lake Como, we envisioned a garden-themed celebration that exuded romance and elegance. Our dream was to host an intimate gathering with our loved ones at a picturesque classic Italian villa, surrounded by glistening water, soft music, and the enchanting scent of fresh flowers.

This Italian garden-inspired theme not only highlighted our love for nature but also brought a timeless elegance to our special day, creating a truly magical and unforgettable experience.

The most unexpected part of the day was.

The most unexpected part of the day was the weather. Leading up to the wedding, we were incredibly nervous because the forecast predicted rain, and the unusually high rainfall in Lake Como that season only added to our worries. While our planner had excellent contingency plans in place, anyone who has dreamed of or planned an outdoor wedding knows that no backup plan can truly compare to the real outdoor vibe.

But as the big day approached, the weather magically turned in our favour. We were blessed with the most beautiful weather we could have hoped for—clear skies and perfect conditions that allowed us to truly enjoy the breathtaking landscape Lake Como has to offer. Even the next day, the rain held off for our farewell brunch, giving us the chance to savour every moment of our wedding weekend without a drop of worry.

When I look back on the day now I feel….

When I look back on the day now, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and joy. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments, and I’m still in awe of how everything came together so perfectly. I feel incredibly fortunate to have shared such a special occasion with the people who mean the most to us. We just got our gallery back from our talented photographer, Elisabetta, and every image captures the magic and emotion of the day in such a beautiful, dreamy way. The memories from that day continue to fill my heart with happiness, and I feel so lucky to have such a perfect reminder of our love.

A word of advice to new brides would be…

My advice to new brides: take a deep breath and savour every moment. The wedding day flies by faster than you can imagine, so be sure to pause and soak in the beauty of each little moment—whether it’s a quiet glance with your partner, a laugh with your loved ones, or the way everything feels so magical and surreal. Don’t get caught up in stressing over the small details. Things might not always go exactly as planned, but trust that everything will fall into place and the day will unfold more beautifully than you could ever have imagined. The memories you make will be so much more meaningful than the tiny imperfections that might seem so important at the time.

My Homebodii moment was special because and I wore…

My Homebodii moment was truly special as I wore the Ingrid Bodysuit paired with a delicate lace robe during my getting-ready and boudoir session. This ensemble made me feel both sexy and elegant, allowing me to embrace myself and feel confident and feminine during those intimate moments. It was the perfect balance of sensuality and elegance that made me feel like the best version of myself.

I encourage all brides to carve out some time for bridal getting-ready photos on their own, as it’s a chance to capture a personal and intimate memory. This is your moment, and while we tend to be our own toughest critics, we shouldn’t be. We should embrace and love the way we are—flaws, beauty, and all. It’s about feeling confident in who you are and cherishing these moments of self-love on such a special day.
