An Afternoon with Claire Friesen

Between film sets and ocean dives, actress and underwater performer Claire Friesen finds beauty in stillness. Captured in Mexico wearing our new Peyton collection, Claire embodies the effortless grace and quiet confidence that inspire Homebodii’s designs. We spoke with her about her journey, daily rituals, and what it means to slow down and find comfort in the simple moments.

Can you tell us a little about your journey as an actress and what inspires you most in your craft?

I actually started out as a professional athlete and discovered my passion for acting while performing in the cirque show Le Rêve. I moved to New York City to study acting and have been working on my craft ever since. For me, acting is really about exploring what it means to be human; every story offers an opportunity to uncover and express some truth about humanity, which I find endlessly fascinating.

Outside of work, what are the little things in life that bring you joy or make you feel most like yourself?

There are so many, but dancing to great music, free diving in open water, and sharing an unhurried meal with loved ones are definitely at the top of my list.

What was your favourite part of the Homebodii shoot, any moments that made you feel especially at ease or joyful?

Working with my dear friend Jessie was an absolute joy! She has a gift of really seeing people and bringing out the very best in them. The architecture was also very inspiring and added to the relaxed, creative energy of the day.

How would you describe your personal style, and does it change when it comes to your downtime or loungewear?

I gravitate toward pieces that feel effortless yet intentional. I care about quality, craftsmanship, and the story behind each piece and that same sentiment is reflected in my loungewear as well. Even when I’m relaxing, I want to wear pieces that are thoughtful and well-made.

Can you share a glimpse into your daily rhythm, how you weave moments of calm and self-care into a busy schedule?

I think it’s important to begin and end each day with intention. For me, that means starting the morning with meditation and embodied movement to center myself. At the end of the day, I like to energetically reset and curl up with a good book or my journal and some tea.

Are there any small indulgences or rituals that help you feel centered and recharged, especially during a busy schedule?

One thing that really helps me feel centered is going to the farmers market on the weekend. I love wandering around and picking out fresh produce and flowers. It’s a simple way to nourish and take care of myself for the week ahead.

Did this experience with Homebodii inspire any new ways for you to relax, unwind, or treat yourself at the end of a busy day?

It reminded me that loungewear can be a ritual. Simply changing into something soft and luxurious sends a signal to my mind and body that it’s time to relax.

Who or what inspires you most in your life right now, whether in your work, personal life, or creative projects?

In a world that feels increasingly disconnected, I’m inspired by shared moments of humanity that remind us how connected we all are. Simple acts of kindness and understanding are a powerful reminder of the importance of genuine human connection, both in my personal life and in my work.

Which Homebodii pieces made you feel most “you,” and how did they complement your mood during the shoot?

I loved all of the Homebodii pieces, but my favourites were the Peyton long lace slip dress and robe. They felt elegant yet effortless and really made me feel relaxed and confident during the shoot.

If you could describe your perfect evening at home in your favorite Homebodii pieces, what would it look like, from attire to ambiance?

I love cooking for people, so a perfect evening at home for me would be having an intimate candlelit dinner party in the garden with my loved ones. I’d wear the Sian mini lace slip over relaxed jeans or the Peyton long lace slip with a cashmere sweater.
